Facts about Cedric McMillan
Additionally, he is an active duty soldier in the US Army. He works full-time and is based in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He is a role model to children and upcoming bodybuilders due to his work ethic, patriotism, and passion for the sport of bodybuilding.
Cedric McMillan is also popularly known by his nickname: “The One.” Married with three children, McMillan is not only an avid bodybuilder, but also a doting father. His favourite exercises include the lying dumbbell tricep extension, the seated cable row, and the smith machine bench press. He does not train his abs directly to prevent them from becoming large like the other muscles.
Only in the late 2000s did Cedric decide to try his luck competing in a bodybuilding show. His first competition was the NPC South Carolina, held in 2007. He competed in the super-heavyweight class and won first place.
Two years later, at the NPC Nationals held in 2009, he placed first and as a result was eligible for an IFBB Pro card. An IFBB Pro card enables a bodybuilder to compete professionally, that is, participate in a competition involving prize money.
In 2012, he made a statement by winning the prominent New York Pro competition. He beat the likes of Johnnie Jackson and Steve Kuclo, who are IFBB veterans. This victory enabled him to qualify for the Mr. Olympia competition, for the first time, which is regarded as the greatest bodybuilding competition in the world. The winner of this contest is crowned Mr. Olympia and has the bragging rights as the best bodybuilder in the world.
In 2013, he came first at the FIBO Power Germany.
2015 proved to be an excellent year for McMillan. He won first place at the 2015 Golden State Pro, came second at the Arnold Classic Brasil and the Europa Atlantic City, and was placed third at the Nordic Pro held in Lahti, Finland.
Most recently, he won the 2017 Arnold Classic which took place in Columbus, Ohio. He finished ahead of Dallas McCarver, a talented and upcoming bodybuilder. With this win, he has successfully qualified for the 2017 Mr. Olympia competition. Finishing in the top 5 will ensure the other competitors are reminded that Cedric McMillan is a force to be reckoned.
Said to have one of the most aesthetic physiques in the bodybuilding community today, Cedric has found the right balance between work, passion, family, and patriotism. It is rare for a person to be so successful at professional bodybuilding while simultaneously having a full-time job.
